The phrase "a majority of mutant" is not correct in standard written English.
It can be used when referring to a larger portion of a group characterized as mutants, but it typically requires a noun to follow "mutant" for clarity.
Example: "A majority of mutants in the experiment displayed enhanced abilities."
Alternatives: "most of the mutants" or "the greater part of the mutants".
