There's a lot of elementary electric engineering going on here (yes, and soldering), but other than knowing your polarities and such, I think this is a pretty straightforward project — as long as you can find a surplus stepper motor, and they don't seem that rare.
"We've been going to a lot of elementary, middle and high schools just talking to the youth about how important it is to maintain high grades, how important it is to go to college," Jaiquann says.
There's a humanity there, but barely, as Guy swears at, insults and mocks anyone in his path, which if you're trying to win a spelling-bee competition means a lot of elementary-school children.
He savors the irony that because a standard textbook quickly picked up his rent-seeking concept, "there was a period when a lot of brand-new elementary [economics] students knew about it and no one else did".
"Changes create a lot of pressure on the elementary school teachers," Ms. Waters said.

A lot of what goes on in elementary school is socialization, she said, and that's important.
"You have to study a lot of this stuff, even in elementary school doing state projects and memorising counties and capitals and agriculture and goods exported and imported and histories," he explains.
Mr. Hall said that Richmond is the third-largest city borough in area, that it hasn't received its full share of city money, that during the war, because of Tompkinsville, it was a big troop-and-materiel embarkation port, that it has a lot of pheasants and the oldest elementary schoolhouse in the country.
The idea here is that there isn't a lot of active learning happening, in elementary schools, in high schools, and especially at colleges, yet a lot can be learned by tracking the frequency of questions an instructor asks, or how long he or she pauses, or who in the class is volunteering to speak and who isn't.
