The phrase "a list of stuff" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used informally to refer to a collection of items or topics without specifying what they are.
Example: "I need to make a list of stuff to buy for the party this weekend."
Alternatives: "a list of items" or "a list of things".
The latter two options, I thought, surely belonged on a list of "stuff in India that you'd never see in the United States".
