The phrase "a latent correlation of" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when discussing a hidden or not immediately apparent relationship between two or more variables or factors.
Example: "The study revealed a latent correlation of socioeconomic status and educational attainment that had not been previously recognized."
Alternatives: "an underlying relationship of" or "a hidden connection of".
We calculated a latent correlation of 0.93 between the two factors, lending further support to the hypothesis of a 1D construct.
