The phrase "a large association between" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts where you are discussing the relationship or correlation between two or more variables or factors, often in research or statistical analysis.
Example: "The study found a large association between physical activity levels and overall health outcomes in the population."
Alternatives: "a strong correlation between" or "a significant relationship between".
