Unlike studies in Europe, where researchers have reported the animal MRSA clone ST398 from various meat products (4 ), all MRSA isolates in our study were USA300, which suggests a possible human source of contamination during meat processing (1 ).
On the other side, isolates of CC7 and CC15 predominated in pork meat investigated here, accounting for 73% of total isolates derived from this product, suggesting additional most likely human source of meat contamination.
