This accessible tissue, alongside robust animal models, provides a fantastic resource in which to study inflammation, angiogenesis and tissue repair (Fig. 1) to identify new therapeutic targets for gynaecological conditions and generate translational knowledge for application at a host of other tissue sites.
Snrk was first identified in 3T3-L1 differentiadipocyteocellscells (Becker et al., 1996), and subsequently was shown to be expressed in a host of other tissues in mice and humans including white and brown adipose tissue (WAT and BAT), small intestine, heart, brain and liver (Li et al., 2013), tissues with high metabolic needs.
Overall, metabolism has clear effects on the central nervous system and a host of peripheral tissues, and strategies that exploit broadly the therapeutic benefits of metabolism are becoming more compelling in translational and clinical research [10] [12].
Based on these considerations we believe DE analysis will lead to poor prioritisation of causal regulatory pathways in a host of species, tissues and biological circumstances, although it may perform well with close-to-target output pathways.
AKT1 [also called protein kinase B (PKB)] is involved in two major signaling pathways: the regulation of muscle hypertrophy and atrophy (Nader 2005) and AKT1 is mediator of the biological functions of insulin and augments glucose uptake in muscle, adipocytes and liver along with a host of other tissues (Elghazi et al. 2006; Zdychova and Komers 2005).
The past decade has seen the arrival of a host of new soft tissue fillers for facial rejuvenation, which not only remove wrinkles but also have the ability to restore facial volume to create a balanced, more natural rejuvenated look.
Interestingly, these MSCs reside in a diverse host of tissues throughout the adult organism and possess the ability to 'regenerate' cell types specific for these tissues (Table 1).
MPCs can be found resident within a host of musculoskeletal and connective tissues, and the multipotential nature of MPCs makes them theoretically ideal candidates for repair of cartilage defects, especially those that also involve subchondral bone.
Exportation of tissues raises a host of issues concerning the potential commodification and traffic of human identity, and the exploitation of communities from which tissues have been exported.
