The phrase "a helpful one" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe something that provides assistance or support, often in a context where options or choices are being discussed.
Example: "Among the various resources available, I found the guide to be a helpful one for understanding the new software."
Alternatives: "a useful one" or "an advantageous one".
