The C238Y mutation is at position 8 of the A helix of the second TPR domain of AIP and its mutation could destabilize the A and B helix packaging of the second TPR domain (Fig. 4C) [ D'Andrea and Regan, 2003; Hidalgo-de-Quintana et al., 2008].
