The phrase "a habitual behaviour" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe an action or conduct that is performed regularly or consistently over time.
Example: "His tendency to arrive late to meetings is a habitual behaviour that frustrates his colleagues."
Alternatives: "a regular practice" or "a routine action".
So, managers in slow-growing firms seem to use a more habitual behaviour, representing a more limited behavioural repertoire, and this might explain their more limited ability to respond to the external environment context and might shed some light on why they do not grow.
