The phrase "a great moderate" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe someone who is considered to be a balanced or centrist individual, particularly in political or social contexts.
Example: "In the heated debate, she was recognized as a great moderate, always seeking common ground between opposing views."
Alternatives: "a true centrist" or "an effective mediator".
