This allowed calculation of microvascular volume (MvV) as well as an index of microvascular perfusion (MvP) according to the equation y = A (1 − e−β(t −0.5)) where y is the acoustic intensity at a given pulsing interval, A = MvV, and Axβ = MvP [ 2, 29].
Applications include increased bandwidth for a given pulse length compared to equivalent pulses requiring no phase correction, selective pulses, and pulses that mitigate the effects of relaxation.
There is considerable regularity in the time intervals between pulses, giving a pulse interval of 165.61 ± 4.21 ms (n = 225 pulses/10 flies).
The sampling intervals may be unknown and time-varying in a given interval.
