The phrase "a function of generation" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts discussing how something is influenced or determined by generational factors, such as in sociology or technology.
Example: "The differences in communication styles can be seen as a function of generation, with younger people favoring digital platforms."
Alternatives: "an aspect of generation" or "a result of generational factors".
Finite element calculation is used to assess the effective Young's modulus as a function of generation parameters.
