The phrase "a distinctly different pattern" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used when describing a pattern that is clearly and noticeably different from another pattern.
Example: "The research revealed a distinctly different pattern in the behavior of the two groups."
Alternatives: "a clearly different pattern" or "a noticeably different pattern".
