We're working on an entirely new revision of the API that we hope will, significantly simplify development of (Friendfeed apps?) and we have internally kind of a (data?) version of it and we're hoping to get out at least to maybe to a few people next week and so it should be released to everyone in within a few weeks.
(Although, to be clear, currently the toys are Wi-Fi only — with no data plan option. Nanda says "eventually" they might offer a data version but is evidently in no rush, adding: "It's working very well with Wi-Fi because kids are at home").
