Through the implementation of the UK cross government strategy, Health is Global [ 12] (since updated through the publication of a corresponding outcomes Framework [ 13]), the Department of Health, in collaboration with the National Heart Forum (now UK Health Forum), initiated a project to develop and support the use of global health impact assessments (GHIA).
