The Zeidler et al. (2011) olivine dataset is gaining popularity as a proxy for forsterite in radiative transfer models (e.g., Poteet et al., 2011 mentioned earlier) and to our knowledge is the only recent laboratory dataset for Mg-rich silicates in a comparable wavelength range to our UV-VIS-NIR n and k.
In our study, a comparable wavelength (670 nm) was used, but at a dose about a thousand times lower (4.3 mJ/cm) than in the above-mentioned studies.

Typical atomic spacings in crystals are approximately 1 angstrom (1 × 10−10 metre), ideal for producing diffraction effects in electromagnetic radiation of comparable wavelength.

Therefore, the effect of radius of the spheres will change the transmission spectrum of the AR layer on glass substrate, scattering lights with comparable wavelength.
In the case of S waves with an employed frequency range of 2 5 Hz and a Vs of 0.2 km/s (Tonegawa et al. 2013), the wavelength becomes 40 100 m, indicating that estimation of Vp/Vs within marine sediments can be performed with mostly comparable wavelengths between P and S waves.
The reflector system, involving as it does a structure comparable to a wavelength in linear dimension, is not susceptible to traditional high- or low-frequency approximate methods of computation.
These animals use sound to localize objects, both for navigation and for prey capture, and a high frequency is needed to produce a short wavelength, comparable to the size of the prey.
This is because vesicles with a size comparable to the wavelength of light, i.e., sizes > 1/10 the wavelength of light, stop acting like point particles and show a decreasing trend in scattering intensity with increasing volume29 at the scattering angle used for measurements (90°).
However, the specific size distribution of cometary dust together with an enhanced efficiency of particles comparable to wavelength discussed in Section 2, may make the contribution of particles larger than 3 µm relatively insignificant.
As a consequence, one could expect a leading role for particles with sizes comparable to wavelength in light scattering by polydisperse cometary dust.
