Additionally, when sorted by exam grade ("A"–"F"), there was still no impact of collaborative testing on content retention for students at different achievement levels.
Given the inconsistency of these findings and the extra time and resources required to add collaborative testing into an existing examination format, we wanted to know whether collaborative testing would indeed improve student learning in an introductory science class.
