A cluster of eight candidate genes could be identified by combining sequence similarity searches with a subsequent synteny analysis between C. glutamicum and the closely related C. efficiens.
A cluster of seven candidate SNPs for ear type are found immediately downstream of the MSRB3 gene between 11.0 and 11.1 Mb (Fig. 2).
A cluster of six candidate genes on chromosome 9 all encode proline rich proteins while three of the genes in a cluster of 5 on chromosome 6 encode caffeic acid O-methyltransferases (Additional file 4).
When all TNPO3 candidate sequences were clustered by NJ, a cluster of robust candidates identified by phylogenetic analysis (data not shown), was formed with more diverged candidates being excluded (Figure S2(h)).
The spectrum of candidates ranges from Michel Aoun, a former army commander whose Free Patriotic Movement (FPM) is part of the opposition, to a cluster of March 14th candidates, including Nassib Lahoud (a distant cousin of the incumbent), Butrus Harb and Charles Rizq.
However, as can be seen in Fig. 1, we found a cluster of auroral candidates several years after this event.
