In our patient population a substantial impact of sorafenib on the MRI pattern of HCC tissues was observed, which might be regarded at least as some kind of a therapy response; however, the majority of these changes did not lead to a classification of a partial response according to classical RECIST criteria.
A special feature of this paper is the evaluation of the EIS data obtained through a critical analysis of the existing equivalent electrical circuits, in order to establish adequate parameters and scientific criteria to propose a classification of the corrosion response of the investigated surfaces.
Finally, as we describe in the robustness section, we have developed an error correction strategy that results in a perfect classification of response and non-response for this example.
Therefore, a new classification of response criteria, "(PERCIST) Positron Emission tomography Response Criteria In Solid Tumors," has been introduced taking into consideration both changes in tumor volume as well as changes in metabolism [ 24].
These FLC assays have a particular role for the diagnosis and monitoring of light chain only multiple myeloma [ 1], but in addition their sensitivity has lead to the development of a new classification of response of multiple myeloma: stringent complete response (when the FLC ratio has normalised, in addition to standard parameters).
Therefore, as demonstrated in the first simulation study (Supplementary Figures 1a and 1b), if one of the replicate values is much larger than the others in that replicate, the resulting average would be large and might cause an incorrect classification of response (false positive).
After this qualitative classification of responses we performed a quantitative comparison of winner- and loser-type responses on the basis of tuning properties or rate functions (Fig. 3).

It is based on the automatic classification of responses returned by the Web server using data clustering techniques and identifies queries that are able to successfully exploit vulnerabilities.
In brief, classification of responses was based on the correlation of each trial with the average response.
