The phrase "a class is over" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to indicate that a particular class or lesson has concluded.
Example: "After an hour of intense discussion, the teacher announced that a class is over and students could leave."
Alternatives: "the class has ended" or "the lesson is finished".
By comparing cytokine-regulated gene identification numbers (IDs) to the distribution of all gene IDs represented on the Whole Human Genome Oligo Microarray (Agilent Technologies), it was calculated whether a specific class is over- or underrepresented.
