The phrase "a bad study" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used to describe a research study that is poorly designed, executed, or has flawed results.
Example: "The findings of the research were dismissed by experts because it was considered a bad study with numerous methodological issues."
Alternatives: "a flawed study" or "a poor study".
