Before infection, healthy abalones (collected from the Test Base for Fishery Technical Extension Station of Fujian Province) were raised in the lab for 7 days, and then divided into two equal groups.
Assuming that the heritability of growth is h 2 = 0.3, with R = −4.37 ± 1.67%, and s = −4.93 ± 1.23%, the proportion of logarithmic growth decrease (α t ) due to fishery-induced selection was estimated to be 33.8%.
