The pairwise protein sequence similarity between each new Xf-effector and the most closely related Xanthomonas effector class is compared with the lowest pairwise similarity observed within this effector class.
The mitochondrial differentiation between the M. schreibersii lineages is particularly striking in the light of the similarity observed within each of them; there is only a shallow differentiation in the control region and almost no differentiation in Cytb between colonies of M. s. schreibersii sampled in Anatolia, Iberia, or Maghreb [ 4, 9, 45].
Despite the similarities observed in scientific approaches within coverage decision-making systems [ 9], there seems to be a wide variation in the thoroughness of process for evidence assessment and appraisal.
As an example, Additional file 8: Figure S6 shows the similarities observed for the gRUCPs within the serogroup A N. meningitidis strain Z2491 and the other 17 Neisseria genomes.

Although the architectures of these genes were similar to others, little sequence similarity was observed within their coding sequence for any known MT. The translated daphniid sequences (i.e. D. pulex; D. magna, Poynton et al.[ 19]) also showed little similarity to other MT genes (Table 4, Fig 7), including other crustaceans.
The higher similarity index observed within each cluster reveals the clonal relationship between the C. pseudotuberculosis under analysis, despite animal host species and farm of origin.
Four types of repeats dispersed, tandem, palindromic and gene similarity repeats were observed within the Cymbidium cp genomes.
Nevertheless, minor segments of similarity are also observed within their N-terminal half, previously implicated in binding to eIF3i [ 60].
This cross species similarity was also observed within the capsular variable region of IA3902, which as mentioned above was determined to be highly invasive (Fig. 3).
