She hopes that after the elementary level curriculum is completed, that her team will turn to one for middle and senior pupils.
Arrangements have been made for senior pupils from the other two secondaries to attend alternative schools, but they will be taught by their own teachers.
In the simplest terms, the method involved a master instructing a number of senior pupils or "monitors," who then passed on their newly acquired knowledge to a larger number of pupils.
The students at the school, where fees for senior pupils are up to £11,500 per term, have to leave their phones in their lockers until the end of lessons with no access even during break times.
With 2,000 senior pupils about to start their exams, the council has already postponed practical exams in some subjects, including modern languages, and is considering offers of classrooms and exam space from Edinburgh and Napier universities and the Scottish parliament.
Andrew Kerr, chief of Edinburgh city council, said: "We have now put in place alternative arrangements for 3,300 pupils, including as a priority all senior pupils in S4, S5 and S6 sitting exams in the near future, which has been a huge logistical exercise.
The two other options both involve the construction of a new school to accommodate senior pupils in S4 and above.
Another option involves using senior pupils to help run school libraries and having fewer dedicated full-time librarians.
The council is also consulting on whether more "distance learning" would be appropriate, especially for senior pupils - potentially saving £600,000 a year.
He said senior pupils would be accommodated at St Joseph's College and Dumfries High School "depending on the ability of the schools to take them".
