As noted, a need for research on vivax exists because resistance to chloroquine may be emerging and treatment for vivax has yet to be optimized for the border population.
In order to test our main hypothesis – the feasibility of constructing a clinical scoring system to assess immunosuppression in HIV/TB co-infected subjects – we chose a model optimized for the study population.

When we optimized populations for weak trade-off in either foraging or colonization tasks, the resulting populations in both tasks exhibited lower levels of protein noise and lower phenotypic variability, in comparison to populations optimized for the respective strong foraging or colonization trade-offs.
Data used in the statistical analysis can be found in Additional files 3 and 4. To validate the model performance, 1000 random epitope pairs, predicted for proteins of the cytomegalic virus strain AD169 (UniProt Proteom ID UP000008991), were generated and spacers of length 1 6 designed and optimized for the HLA distribution of the European population using α = 0.99.
These can be used to suggest directions of exploration, define strategies in medical genetics, refine association methods, and tests of positive natural selection optimized for the genetic diversity segregating in human populations (Yu et al. 2009).
Those heuristics will fail because they are not optimized for a financial context – they are optimized for the physical world.
Mortality at these units is likely to be different from that at ICUs, resulting in models with coefficients optimized for this diluted population [ 10].
However, if pharmacogenetic information can be used to ensure that the dosing and design of regimens and treatment policy are optimized for populations rather than for individuals, considerable public health benefit may accrue.
For example, 384-SNP chips have been optimized for indica × japonica populations commonly used for QTL mapping, others for indica × aus or tropical × temperate japonica breeding populations and some for indica × O. rufipogon or japonica × O. rufipogon populations.
