The speciation monitors were filter-based Met One Speciation Air Sampling Systems (SASS) (Met One Instruments Inc., Grants Pass, OR) belonging to the Speciation Trends Network (STN).
PM10 2.5 mass was determined by the difference between PM10 and PM2.5 mass measurements (Beta Attenuation Mass Monitors; Met One Instruments, Grants Pass, OR).
A β-attenuation filter-based mass monitor (E-BAM; Met One Instruments, Grants Pass, OR) measured 1-hr average PM2.5 concentrations.
Other hourly PM measurements included total particle number (Condensation Particle Counter model 3785; TSI Inc., Shoreview, MN, USA), and PM2.5 mass (Beta-Attenuation Mass Monitor, model 1020; Met One Instruments Inc., Grants Pass, OR, USA).
