Language ability is a key factor.
Language ability was assessed with a language assessment test as previously described [ 18].
The SIB-L scale seems ideal for the assessment of basic language abilities and the evaluation of effects of treatment on language abilities in patients with moderate-to-severe AD [10].
Three quantitative measures of language were considered in this group; composite scores of expressive and receptive language ability were derived from the Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals battery (CELF-R) [ 54].
