Lisa Borders, the chief executive of Times Up, the Hollywood-led initoative to fight workplace sexual harassment, has resigned after less than four months on the job, representatives of the organization announced on Monday.
Representatives Philip M. Crane, Republican of Illinois, and Bill Thomas, Republican of California, are competing for the Ways and Means job, Representatives Billy Tauzin, Republican of Louisiana, and Michael G. Oxley, Republican of Ohio, are contending for Commerce and Representatives Saxby Chambliss, Republican of Georgia, and Jim Nussle, Republican of Iowa, are vying for the Budget Committee.
A year into the job, representatives of women's groups called for an investigation of charges that the chief hit and pushed his ex-wife, Jackie Oliver.
The last man who held the job, Representative John Linder of Georgia, was replaced after Republicans lost five seats in 1998.
"The best economic stimulus that there is a job," Representative Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, said at a ceremony at the plant Monday.
