The investigation of something so relatively benign as echinacea, ginseng, ginkgo biloba and Saint John's Wort may not seem like a big story -- certainly not in light of the latest execution by the so-called Islamic State and the capital response of the Jordanian government.
"When a health department requests an investigation of something, that's basically within the CDC's authorization, because they're not necessarily saying 'Let's do gun violence research.'
