Ironically, as the market for Internet stocks has slumped this year, Internet stock indexes continue to proliferate, as do investment funds created to buy only Internet stocks.
Yahoo! hopes News Corp. can rescue it from a Microsoft takeover or at least prove that the slumping Internet pioneer is worth more money than its suitor wants to pay.
