"When we get to the point of having a big, engaged audience, we want to be able to go to brands and pick and choose who we want to work with in terms of collaborating on content," he says.
What has your team struggled with in terms of collaborating together in Phase 2 – and how did you resolve the issue?
"Most of what we are doing in terms of collaborating with other researchers has to do with massive amounts of data" generated with high-throughput techniques like gene sequencing, microarrays, and mass spectrometry, he says.
This was also the first time the Walmart Labs team worked with one of Walmart's acquisitions, in terms of collaborating on the development of new technology together, rather than porting over technology from one place to another.
