7 In the Global South, i interventions to reduce child undernutrition focus often on household food security (adequacy of food availability), without taking into consideration the complementary role of quality childcare.
Broadly speaking, they can be divided into three groups: i) interventions for direct treatment of illnesses ii) preventive interventions such as immunization and iii) health promotion/behavioral change interventions such as breastfeeding.
