A significant reduction in serum has been reported for paroxonase (PON-I), high density lipoproteins [ 56], and plasma superoxide dismutase [ 57] and an increase of total cholesterol, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, lipid peroxidises [ 56], 25-hydroxycholesterol [ 58], heat shock protein 70b′ (HSP70b′) [ 59], and Vitamin E [ 57].
CM has: (i) very high density (1.17 g cm−3), (ii) high electrical conductivity (9.3 S cm−1), (iii) well-compacted and interconnected carbon spheres, (iv) homogeneous microporous structure and (v) apparent BET surface area of 957 m2g−1.
Changes in the lipoproteins are known to occur in infantile visceral leishmaniasis, particularly, deficiency of apolipoprotein A-I and high density lipoproteins [ 30].

When choosing a small minimum inter-probe distance (≪probe-length) for the intergenic regions a "selective tiling" is achieved, i.e. high density, but with high quality probes only (see Table S1 for maximum probe density).
