Four experiments were conducted to simulate a rain event from 16 to 20 July 2002 over the Indian region: (i) a control with Global Land Cover land use and observed Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, (ii) an irrigated crop scenario, (iii) a non-irrigated crop scenario, and (iv) a scenario for potential (natural) vegetation.
Mice were exposed to two isocaloric diets: (i) a control diet containing no long chain n-3 PUFA (DHA or eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)) but 7 and 67 µmole/g of α-linolenic (LNA, 18∶3 n-3) and linoleic (LA, 18∶2 n-6) acid, respectively; or (ii) a high-DHA diet with 9.5, 0.5 and 34 µmole/g of DHA, LNA and LA, respectively.
We have generated cells grown under (i) a control condition for parental LNCaP, in FBS; (ii) media with charcoal-stripped FBS which removes low molecular weight hormones including steroid, thyroid and peptide hormones (CS-FBS, androgen-deprived) (Fig. 1).
The plants were divided into two groups as follows: (i) a control treatment group, in which the plants were constantly irrigated to near field capacity, and (ii) a drought stress group, in which the plants were subjected to a complete suspension of irrigation.
At the age of 2 weeks, phenotypically normal and Ames dwarf female mice were divided into four experimental groups, including: (i) a control group of normal heterozygous (N) mice injected with 0.9% saline, (ii) Ames dwarfs (df/df) treated with 0.9% saline, (iii) Ames dwarfs treated with porcine GH (df/df-GH), and Ames dwarfs treated with GH and T4 (df/df-GH + T4).
These were: (i) a control group, since participants were randomized as yoga and wait-list control groups, (ii) recording of heart rate variability as an objective measure of autonomic nervous system function, and (iii) using a yoga program which had similar components as the program used earlier [ 8], though there was a greater emphasis on yoga breathing in the program used in the present study.
