Many graduates report having acquired relevant skills during work experiences either before or during their HE courses, though the proportions that do so are rather lower in the UK than elsewhere in Europe (Little et al. 2008, p. 35).

Harlow College student Simone Webb thinks there is also a tendency to focus on students in higher education and that this completely ignores the wide range of courses on offer at FE colleges, including the fact that many offer HE courses.
