ASTER and Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) images were acquired concomitantly and classified following similar methods to identify water bodies for three color classes and a range of sizes.
Patients were classified following the AKIN classification [11], which includes changes in sCr and urine output.
These features are used to define viral species, which are named and classified following a Linnaean-type hierarchical system according to the rules of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV).
The database therefore consists of four data panels comprising trade flows among the countries included in the sample and classified, following the United Nations Statistics Division, according to their level of development.11 Thus, trade flows are classified into four categories, the first of which is among high-income countries (N N).
To facilitate comparative analyses, A. euteiches unigenes were classified following the same criteria.
Tumors were classified following the WHO classification [1] and the Sainte-Anne Hospital classification [35] when applicable (Table 1).
Neurological diagnostic work up aimed at identification of stroke cause, which was classified following TOAST criteria [14].
The outcomes of all TB patients were classified following standard WHO definitions [23] and retrieved using the national TB registers at CENAT.
A total of 33 patients (5 ND, 15 DF and 13 DHF) were studied from the Recife metropolitan area, Brazil [23] and were classified following the WHO criteria [4].
Phytoplankton are classified following the scaling nomenclature of Sieburth et al. [80], who define pico- (smaller than 2 µm), nano- (2 20 µm), micro- (20 200 µm), meso- (200 µmm2 mm), and macroplankton (larger than 2 mm).
Microarray identified target genes were further classified following the GO rules based on: (i) the cellular component (CC) indicating where the gene product can be found; (ii) the biological process (BP) in which the gene product participates; (iii) the molecular function (MF) that describes the gene product activities.
