Gonads located on or near the animal surface are common in the lowest invertebrates, but in higher animals they tend to be more deeply situated and often involve intricate duct systems.
Respiratory rate, ventilation rate, oxygen, carbon dioxide, methane, saturation pressure, air temperature of the exhaled air, saturation pressure in the air leaving the ventilated capsule placed over the animal surface, hair coat, skin surface and rectal temperature were assessed.
The dose rate in air at the animal surface was approximately 16 000 Gy.s−1.s−1
A temperature sensor can be effective in modifying behaviour only when it is present at the animal surface to sense environmental temperature.
Knowing the origin of the source ray, the point where the source ray intersects the calibration target with known location, and the 3-D animal surface, the coordinates of the source that impinges the animal were computed (Fig. 1 ).
Thermal imagers have been used in a number of disciplines to record animal surface temperatures and as a result detect temperature distributions and abnormalities requiring a particular course of action.
