The following quartile values represent each severity level according to predicted CGI-BPD scores: 1st quartile: 3.59, 2nd quartile: 4.27; 3rd quartile: 4.9; 4th quartile: 6.63.
Interaction p-values (BC × sex) were not significant at the α = 0.05 level (pinteraction with commission errors: BC 2nd quartile p = 0.27, 3rd quartile p = 0.20, 4th quartile p = 0.20; pinteraction with HRT: BC 2nd quartile p = 0.09, 3rd quartile p = 0.12, 4th quartile p = 0.10).
Stratification of ADMA serum levels in Quartiles (cut-off values: 1st Quartile: 0.52 μmol/l; 2nd Quartile: 0.59 μmol/l; 3rd Quartile: 0.69 μmol/l; 4th Quartile: 0.85 μmol/l) showed that the portion of the patients with a full recovery gradually decreased from the 2nd to the 4th quartile, albeit with no significant differences (supplementary material Fig. 1).

At bedtime, adolescents with a measured exposure in the highest quartile during afternoon hours reported a statistically significant higher intensity of irritation in the evening (4th quartile 1.79; 1.2.612.61), while children reported a statistically significant higher intensity of concentration problems (4th quartile 1.55; 1.02.33.33).
Overall for cases and controls combined, the median of the 4th quartile (0.67) was 2.3 times higher than the median of the 1st quartile (0.30).
