The magnetic data were digitally recorded at 40 Hz, on a 24-bit Quanterra Q330 digitizer (http://www.q330.com/), and telemetered to the Berkeley Northern California Earthquake Data Center (www.quake.geo.berkeley.edu).edu
Briefly, magnetic digitizing was carried out by using a three-dimensional (3D) digitizer (3Space Fastrak, Polhemus Inc., Colchester, VT, USA).
Data was processed with a U1084A 8-bit ADC digitizer (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, CA) using in-house control software.
Three-dimensional co-ordinates were recorded for 36 landmarks using a Polhemus 3Draw or a Microscribe 3Dx digitizer.
