At d 30 before mating, 48 Katahdin x Pelibuey multiparous ewes (Body weight [BW] = 50.3 ± 0.5 kg, body condition score [BCS] = 3.0 ± 0.06 units) were assigned, under a randomized complete block design, to one of four dietary treatments (n = 12): 1) control (no nutritional restriction [NR]), 2) NR pre-mating (30 d, NRPRE), 3) NR post-mating (50 d, NRPOS) and 4) NR in both periods (80 d, TNR).
In this scheme, 2 nR 2 sequences u n ( w 2 ), w 2 ∈ [ 1, 2 nR 2 ] each i.i.d., are generated randomly and independently to represent the coarse message, each according to ∏ i = 1 n p U ( u i ).
A 2 nR 1, 2 nR 2, n code consists of message sets W 1 = 1, 2, …, 2 nR 1 and W 2 = 1, 2, …, 2 nR 2, two encoding functions f 1 : W 1 → X 1 n, f 2 : W 1 × W 2 × S → X 2 n, and two decoding functions g 1 : Y 1 n → W 1, g 2 : Y 2 n → W 1 × W 2. such that the transmitted codeword X i satisfies the power constraint, given by (1).
These statistical distributions are obtained in the system with nT = 4, nD = 2, nR = 2, K =128, and IBO = 8 dB and are averaged over 400 channel realizations.
For each auxiliary sequence, u n (w2) randomly, conditionally, and independently generates 2 nR 1 sequences x n (w1,w2) and w 1 ∈ [ 1, 2 nR 1 ], each according to ∏ i = 1 n p X | U ( x i | u i ( w 2 ) ) to represent the fine message w1.
