FIS values for single loci were significant for both Cdact2 (FIS = 0.94, p < 0.05) and Ccarp15 (FIS = 0.81, p < 0.05; jack-knifing was not possible because of the small number of polymorphic loci).
Even though the FIS values calculated from the microsatellites varied more between populations (Supporting Information Table S2), they were also slightly negative or close to zero (in populations ST1 and EL2 FIS estimated with microsatellites were even lower than RADseq-derived estimates), indicating slight excess of heterozygotes.

For example, Fig. 5 and Table 4 indicate that, if (k = 0.5) and (theta in left( {0.76, ;0.88} right)), for (0.1 le eta le 0.6), FIS is better than NIS for all channel members.

In addition, other global regulators, such as CspE (cspE) [52], Lrp (lrp) [53], Fis (fis), and IHF (ihfA), were ranked in the top 20 E. coli csNAPs.
For instance, in the log phase of E. coli, 7 Fis peptides were detected in the nucleoid fraction, and 2 in the envelope fractions, suggesting that Fis was more abundant in the nucleoid fraction.
At hatch, the inbreeding coefficient was significantly >0 (FIS = 0.183, 95% CI: 0.027 to 0.305).
The highest FIS, was found in field 1 (FIS = 0.111), while fields 3 and 7 had an FIS lower than 0 (Table 4).
At the population level, six of the 72 FIS tests were significant.
