Remarkably, our systematic study with 14 salts with 8 anions located differently in the Hofmeister series clearly indicates that the absence of the unique folded tertiary structures in unrefoldable and insoluble proteins solubilized in unsalted water is the manifestation of their intrinsic properties, not due to the absence of salt ions.
