Tree islands of our study area are defined by: (1) unique biogeochemical properties when compared with adjacent short hydroperiod marshes and other forested wetlands and (2) an intricate relationship with marsh hydrology.
Frequency of exposure during learning was manipulated to ensure that (1) unique and shared properties were acquired equally well, but (2) the strength of this learning prior to sleep varied across the three categories, allowing us to assess how sleep prioritizes semantic memories with differential encoding strength.
The dual-layer PBI/PEI hollow fiber membranes have the best separation performance due to (1) unique combination of the superior physicochemical properties of the PBI selective layer and the less swelling characteristics of the PEI supporting layer, and (2) synergistic effects of molecularly designed membrane morphology via dual-layer co-extrusion.

Of the 27 to 35 million quality-evaluated reads (Table 1; Total filtered reads), 72.0% to 75.2% were mapped uniquely to the rice genome (Table 1; Unique-genome); 5.0% to 5.7% of the reads bridged flanking exons (Table 1; Unique-bridged); 6.0% to 11.2% of the reads were repetitive sequences (Table 1; Multiple); and 10.1% to 16.7% had no match in the genome (Table 1; Unmapped).
Thus, a total of 76.9% to 80.9% of the reads were mapped uniquely to the rice genome or to exon-exon junctions (Table 1; Unique-total).
We found that 5.0%to5.7%7% of reads formed primary bridges with previously annotated exons (Table 1, Unique-bridged); this was not sufficient to discover sequences bridging unannotated transcripts.
Although the Salmonella serovars exhibited 84% genome hybridization similarity [28], differences in their relative proteomic content were revealed by (Fig. 5): 1) unique orthologs predicted for both organisms, but not observed; 2) predicted orthologs uniquely observed, but in only one of the two serovars; and 3) predicted orthologs uniquely observed in both organisms.
Because of this, digital quantification of nucleic acid molecules using DNA tags (so-called "primer IDs 1, "unique molecular identifiers"2, or "molecular barcodes"3) has been previously developed.
