N. vitripennis was significantly more likely to both contact and sting Sarcophaga than Protocalliphora (contact: χ1=9.5, p<0.01; stinging: χ1=10.1, p<0.01), while N. giraulti had a significantly greater probability of contacting and stinging Protocalliphora hosts than Sarcophaga (contact: χ1=14.4, p<0.001; stinging: χ1=17.0, p<0.001).
In contrast, heterozygous bkbwg/+v females showed a N. giraulti-like host preference in all behaviors (contact: χ1=0.31, p=0.58; stinging: χ1=0.49, p=0.48; see Figure 2).
