(1) Rupture events in ATP-free solution: The flow cell was filled with buffer A containing different [HMM] (0 100 μg ml−1); following HMM binding to the fibre surface, an ATP-free buffer A containing 0.5 mg ml−1 BSA was flowed in (about 10 times the flow chamber volume) to remove all the unbound HMM and ATP.
The experimental results highlighted two failure modes: 1) rupture or slip off failure of chopped PolyVinyl Alcohol (PVA) fibers at the critical crack sections in the reference specimens, and 2) partial rupture failure of BFRP grid within the UHTCC in all strengthened specimens.
We note that there is a significant change in the earthquake rate at about the time of completion of the Stage 1 rupture (Fig. 5(a)).
In the near-field zone, earthquake effects depend on three main factors, namely (1) rupture mechanism; (2) rupture propagation directions with respect to the site, and (3) permanent displacement due to fault slippage.
Assuming that the rupture on RLF1 was the first shock, it is likely that the category 1 rupture on LLF1 and RLF2 took place the next day, because the combined magnitude seems to confirm the seismological moment magnitude.
Patients were excluded from the study if: 1) rupture of the chorioamniotic membranes occurred before amniotic fluid collection; 2) the amniotic fluid was collected transvaginally; 3) delivery occurred elsewhere and/or clinical data were unavailable; and 4) a major fetal congenital anomaly was present.

We also test a longer rupture, 120-km long, centered on the MMI VIII isoseismal, and almost similar to the 2015 earthquake (Rupture model 1833_H2 Table 1, rupturing segment 1B in Fig. 4).
Causes of death included suicide (n=1), cardiac rupture (n=1), stroke (n=1), and severe infections (n=3; peritonitis, septicemia, and pneumonia).
