Triggering performance was assessed according to the following criteria: 1) triggering delay (DT) between onset of the airway pressure decay and flow delivery; 2) pressurization delay, which is the time at which the airway pressure signal rose (DP), and 3) airway pressure-time product per cycle (PTP) during the trigger phase, defined as the area under the Paw signal during the DT interval.
The cycle steps were the same as the steps of Skarstrom fundamental cycle: (1) high-pressure production, (2) blowdown, (3) purge with product and, (4) pressurization with feed.
As a part of research activities on the S-CO2 Brayton cycle technology development, Supercritical CO2 Pressurization Experiment (SCO2PE) facility was constructed for lab scale CO2 compression experiment near the critical point.

The results show that the temperature range from room temperature to LN2 temperature can be achieved by using LN2, the pressurization process is stable and the high test pressure is maintained.
