Total suspended solids, from both inorganic and particulate organic matter showed similar concentrations between M1, M2, and M3 and are within a range comparable with that reported for semi-intensive culture of L. vannamei in Mexico TSS: 96 ± 5, SSI: 69 ± 36 and POM: 27 ± 7 mg L−1 [ 13], TSS: 124 ± 11 to 153 ± 12, and POM: 30 ± 3 to 38 ± 3 mg L−1 [ 34].
Positive expression of nERβ2 was significantly associated with PF (adjusted odds ratio (adjOR)=3.8, P=0.04) and POM (adjOR=3.1, P=0.02), while cERβ5 positivity did not show a significant association with either PF (adjOR=0.8, P=0.58) or POM (adjOR=3.1, P=0.09; Table 3).
In our study net contributions of materials are similar to that observed in cultures operated with lower stocking densities (14 to 20 ind m−2) and turnover rates of 3 to 5%, TSS: 1591 and POM: 199 kg ha−1 [ 19].
Fos immunoreactivity in BSTmd (F1,23 = 4.720, p = 0.040) and POM (F1,25 = 8.095, p = 0.009) was significantly greater in nesting birds relative to control birds.
