The first dataset was taken from an earlier study by Takane and Mitchell [43], who attempted a clustering of 47 odour compounds using the EVA descriptors.

Pairwise comparisons of the 47 odour compounds (Figure 1) were performed using all approaches, i.e. the 3DZD, USR and its kurtosis variant, SIMCOMP, EVA, UNITY2D, MACCS, and Molprint2D.
