In contrast, studies from Americas [ 17, 27, 30, 31, 35, 37- 39], Africa [ 7- 10, 20, 47] or Oceania [ 43] could not demonstrate a significant benefit of zinc for this outcome (Table 2).
In total the collected data consisted of 14,679 individuals from 128 human populations representing five continental regions: Africa (34 samples), Europe (28), Asia (39), America (25), and Oceania (2).
The authors of submitted papers came from 34 countries, including 418 from North America, 199 from Europe, 138 from Asia (excluding Israel), 22 from Israel, 16 from Oceania, 5 from Africa and 1 from South America.
Based on their origins, 266 accessions originated from Asia, 128 from Western Europe, 20 from Oceania, 26 from North America and 32 from Eastern Europe (Supplementary Table S1).
Four were performed in North America (United States and Canada) [ 16, 21, 25, 26], four in Oceania (Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands) [ 17, 20, 28, 34], two in Europe Sweden and Englandnd and Wales) [ 18, 22], one in central America Haitii) [ 15], and one in Africa (Lusaka) [ 19].
The remaining canal estates are spread across all other continents except Antarctica: Asia (7%), Europe (7%), Oceania (7%), South America (0.9%), and Africa (0.6%).
Our dataset consists of 311 ITS sequences of Microcystis sampled from six continents: Europe (199), Africa (40), Asia (45), North America (7), South America (12) and Oceania (8).
Others were conducted in Asia (n=4), North America (n=4) and Oceania (n=1).
The number of judges based in each continent is as follows: Africa 11, Asia 14, Europe 77, North and Central America 5, Oceania 2, South America 14.
Increased representation in the World Cup finals (since 1998 Asia has sent four teams, and since 2006 Oceania has had a single automatic berth) has helped development of the sport in the region.
